App Privacy Notice
This notice covers the Cattle Weight iPhone app (also called Heft during testing). It explains what the app collects when you sign in and scan an animal, which services process it, how long we keep it, and how to delete it. The app is operated by Tuul UG; TUUL's general privacy notice supplies the controller details and your GDPR rights.

What the app collects
Your account. Your email address and a farm name. If you create the account with a password, we store only a hash of it. If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your verified email address and a stable account identifier; we do not receive your Google password.
Your herd. The animals you enter: ear tag, breed, sex, group, notes, a target weight, and any scale weights you record.
Your scans. When you scan an animal, the app records a short depth and camera video of the animal with the iPhone's LiDAR and cameras, together with the capture time, how long and how well the capture went, the animal it belongs to, the location or paddock text you type, and the iPhone model and iOS version. The app does not read your GPS position: the location field is text you enter yourself.
Results. For each scan we keep the weight estimate, body measurements, the 3D point cloud of the animal, and the automatic checks that go with it (for example whether the animal is a calf, or whether two scans of one tag look like different animals).
The app does not use advertising identifiers, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not contain analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. During TestFlight testing, Apple collects crash reports and the feedback you send through TestFlight under Apple's own terms.
How we use it
To produce the weight estimate, show your herd's history and growth, keep your scans available on any iPhone you sign in to, and to check and improve the accuracy of the estimator. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
Who processes it
- Modal runs the app's backend and processes the scans (United States).
- Amazon Web Services stores the scan recordings and results (Frankfurt, Germany).
- Neon hosts the database with your account, herd, and results (United States).
- Google Gemini API receives a few still frames of the animal from each scan so a vision model can assess it (for example calf or adult, and whether it looks like the same animal as before). We send only the frames of the animal, not your account details.
- Resend delivers account emails such as password resets.
- Google Sign-In, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Each provider processes data under its own terms and security measures. Some of them are outside the EU; TUUL's general privacy notice describes the safeguards used for such transfers.
Retention and deletion
Deleting a scan in the app removes it from your iPhone and from your account, including its recording and results. Raw scan recordings are also removed from storage on a schedule after processing has finished; the results and point cloud stay with your account until you delete the scan.
To delete your whole account with its herd and scans, open Settings in the app and choose Delete account. It takes effect immediately: the account, animals, scans and results are removed and the stored recordings are swept from storage. If you no longer have the app, email info@tuul.ai from the address you signed up with and we do it for you within 30 days.
Children
The app is made for farmers and livestock professionals and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
When the app starts collecting something new or a new service processes your data, we update this page and the date above. The website privacy notice covers this website separately.
